Current Exhibition

This exciting exhibition showcases the work of nine Master of Fine Arts candidates as they explore the profound question of what it means to define a professional art practice. Through diverse media and conceptual approaches, these installations reflect rigorous research, technical skill and critical inquiry.

From immersive environments to sculptural forms and mixed-media compositions, each installation embodies the unique voice and vision of its creator.

What you see in the gallery today is art that reflects the artists’ evolving process in finding authenticity and innovation. The works on display are as much about study and practice, theory, materials and the process of learning as they are about the final product.

Defining an Art Practice is not only a celebration of artistic and academic achievement, but also a dialogue about the challenges and discoveries inherent in developing a creative practice.

The nine jury selected artists were chosen because their proposals offered a rare glimpse into the transformative period of graduate study, where boundaries are tested and identities are forged. Over the course of an entire semester, they worked with professors and the MSC Visual Arts Committee to perfect their conceptual designs and plan their installations.
